Jijiga Passenger Terminal

Client: Ethiopian Airports Enterprise Project completion: 2012 Project cost: $70 million BIR Location: Jijiga, Ethiopia ZIAS was among a group of consultants that performed the design and contract administration for Jijiga’s first airport. The establishment is endowed with all the facilities of a modern international airport, including the latest communications system, a traffic control tower as well as international passport control and a VIP lounge. The exterior façade designs are consistent with local traditions, with sweeping arches both on the land and air sides. The building has large-span waffle flaps providing ample open space in the interior of the building. This airport has transformed the city of Jijiga into a regional hub for commerce. |
