National Stadium

ZIAS’s design features a 22,000 seating-capacity stadium with training facilities for two teams. The stadium will be part of a larger National Sport Center Complex. The Olympic Torch will be the centerpiece of the complex, a culturally specific monument inspired by a bonfire common in one of Ethiopia’s biggest celebrations, Demera. Besides a restaurant and retail space in the building, other year-round facilities include a jogging trail along a running stream, public parks with designated barbecue areas and gardens with indigenous plants.
