Project: Sports Pavillion
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Built up area: 9,000 sq.m International Community School (ICS) contracted ZIAS for design and construction oversight for an expansive space for sports and recreational activities. The design team created a high-ceiling pavilion that would keep the space naturally ventilated while sheltering the students from the sun. This simple structure is constructed with aluminum sheets overlain on metal trusses, which in turn are supported by sheer concrete columns. ZIAS also designed the layout for ground tennis, basketball, badminton and volleyball courts to be housed in the pavilion. |
